Why a site on Michael? I'm probably the biggest Olympics freak you'll ever meet. Ever since I was young, I've religiously watched them. I tell my friends and family not to talk to me at all while they are on TV, lol! I went into the Athens Olympics totally psyched about the women's gymnastics team as I usually am. But the first night of coverage I watched swimming and Michael totally blew me away! I was hooked from then on out; watching all his races! Having grown such a large admiration for his swimming talent and personality logically lead me to create a fansite, so here it is!
Why the name Mr. Phelps? I was watching SportsCenter with my brother (yes, I love SC!) and I heard the name "Phelps", so I perked up. But the Phelps they were referring to wasn't Michael. Then I told my brother that from here on out, the first and only person I'd think of when I hear the name Phelps would be Michael. He told me the first thing he thought of when he heard Phelps was the infamous Mr. Phelps from the classic TV show Mission Impossible. So, I thought, "what a great name for a fansite!" and so, Mr. Phelps was born!
